  • While not always impressed with its occupants, the United States Capitol has always been an awe inspiring landmark to me. Begun in 1793, the Capitol has been built, burnt, rebuilt, extended, and restored; today, it stands as a monument not only to its builders but also to the American people.

  • A haunting whistle. The clickity-clack of wheels on twin ribbons of steel. The intrigue of traveling the same tracks miners, cowboys and settlers of the old west took over a century ago. With billows of stream huffing from its authentic, coal-fired engine, the old 486 iron horse meanders through Colorado's stunning and remote wilderness on the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad.

  • Natural Bridge is an amazing natural bridge in Bryce Canyon National Park. Despite its name, this arch was formed by weathering from rain and freezing, not by stream erosion like a true natural bridge. Once the opening reached ground level, runoff began to enlarge the hole and to dig a gully through it.
